Hey there! đź‘‹

I'm Antonio, or Tony—whichever you prefer. I started running in 2020 as a personal challenge: to complete 100 km in a month. What started as a distraction during lockdown quickly became a passion. Over the years, I went from struggling through 10 km to completing multiple marathons, qualifying for both the Boston and Berlin Marathons, and consistently improving my personal best in every major race I entered.

In 2023, I found myself naturally guiding friends with their training, offering advice based on my own experiences. Seeing them gain confidence and hit their goals made me realise how much I loved coaching. That’s when I decided to take it further, earning my Recreational Running Coach certification (Level 2) from Athletics Australia.

Now, I coach runners of all levels—from those training for their first 5K to experienced marathoners chasing new personal bests. I've helped runners who were just starting with their first 5 km runs progress all the way to completing their first marathons. My approach is built on understanding your body, managing effort, and training with purpose. There are no secrets to improvement—just the right guidance, structured training, and consistency.

My Coaching Philosophy

There’s no secret formula to running success—just the right structure, consistency, and smart training. Improvement comes from training consistently and allowing your body to adapt to new levels of fitness. But consistency isn’t just about showing up—it’s about managing your efforts so you’re not too tired or injured when it matters most. Striking this balance can be tricky on your own, and that’s where I come in. My goal as a coach is to help you train sustainably, giving you the tools to understand when to push and when to hold back based on the goals of your program.

When you sign up on Final Surge, we’ll start with a one-on-one call to talk about your running, schedule, and what you want to achieve. Whether you're new to structured training or looking to take your running to the next level, I’ll explain how the coaching process works and how your plan will be delivered. From there, I’ll set up your first few weeks of training, and we’ll stay connected through Final Surge to track progress, adjust as needed, and keep you moving forward.
